Demand For SaaS Set To Dramatically Increase
The demand for SaaS (Software as a Service) is set to skyrocket in the next five years, according to Global Industry Analysts (GIA).
Representatives from GIA have predicted that the global economic downturn will lead to more businesses using SaaS as a way of lowering expenditures on important software.
It was stated that SaaS could even replace licensed software as the favoured choice amongst global business owners as more firms become used to taking advantage of cloud computing.
In a statement for prweb.com, a GIA spokesperson claimed that there were plenty of new markets where the use of SaaS could expand.
They said: "The rapid development of internet and mobile phone infrastructure technologies and the easy availability of portable devices such as tablets and smartphones are offering new avenues for deploying the SaaS platform in newer verticals.
"The market for SaaS-based Managed Security Services is also promising, primarily due to the cost savings and the level of security controls offered by the vendors."
According to mspnews.com, the analysts also described PaaS (Platform as a Service) and IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) as being in a "nascent state," indicating that demand for these services alongside SaaS could also be on the rise in the near future.
