APM Group confirms no more version numbers for ITIL

Today APM Group confirmed that ITIL will no longer have version numbers but will just be referred to as 'ITIL'. As ITIL V2 was withdrawn at the end of June this year, there isn't really a need for a version number any more. Gradually people will stop talking about ITIL V3 and ITIL V3:2011 and just refer to ITIL.

Gartner survey of CFOs says "IT needs to get closer to the business"

A recent Gartner survey suggests that most CFOs believe that IT aren't providing clear business benefits (70%) and are not seen as a strategic partner (68%). Given that 42% of CIOs report to the CFO, according to the survey, this is not a good reflection of the understanding between IT and Finance.
