This course is intended for installation engineers and customer IT staff responsible for installing, maintaining and providing post installation support for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace 7.0 and 8.0 in enterprise networks.
Attendees should have the following skills:
- Working knowledge of converged voice and data networks
- Working knowledge of SIP, MGCP, and H.323 protocols and their implementation on Cisco IOS gateways
- Working knowledge of video - Cisco Unified Video Conferencing - basics
- Suggested training - Implementing Cisco IP Video Conference Rich Media Communications (ICRMC)
- Ability to configure and operate Cisco Unified Communication Manager
- Suggested training - Implementing Cisco Unified Communication Manager, Part 1 (CIPT1)
Implementing Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Solutions, v2.0 (IMPS) is a 5-day instructor-led training course with labs that will prepare the learner to implement Cisco Unified MeetingPlace 7.0 and 8.0 solutions. Attendees will gain hands-on experience using various user interfaces and procedures to configure the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Application Server, Media servers and Web Conferencing servers as part of a typical on-premise solution. This course provides specific instruction in configuring common MeetingPlace integrations, such as Outlook email, Directory Services, and WebEx conferencing. This course also provides the basic skills necessary to be able to install, administer, maintain and troubleshoot a Cisco Unified MeetingPlace implementation and uses hands-on labs to re-enforce your skills and knowledge.
Course Objectives
To provide learners with skills to successfully install and integrate Cisco's rich-media conferencing solution into a customer enterprise network, you will be able to:
- Explain the hardware and software components available in the MeetingPlace 7.0 and 8.0 solutions and explain the detailed interaction between all of the components
- Identify the supported MeetingPlace design topologies and describe the characteristics of each design
- List the characteristics of the different MeetingPlace audio/web/video conferencing servers and gateways
- Identify existing networking components and client information required to successfully implement a comprehensive MeetingPlace solution
- Describe MeetingPlace functionality and integration with essential customer network components and key applications, such as integrating with the existing Directory Services database
- Verify successful operation of a MeetingPlace 7.0 hardware Media Server and a MeetingPlace 8.0 software Media Server after performing an installation or upgrade
- Identify user interfaces and procedures required to configure, administer and maintain specific MeetingPlace integrations
- Successfully implement a MeetingPlace Application Server including required interactions with customer SIP devices, Email and Directory Services
- Successfully implement and maintain a MeetingPlace Web Conferencing solution for internal network and DMZ access
- Successfully integrate MeetingPlace with WebEx conferencing
- Demonstrate success in troubleshooting issues with a Cisco Unified MeetingPlace system after performing an installation or upgrade
