Professional - CCNP® Service Provider Operations Certification

The Cisco Certified Network Professional in Service Provider Operations (CCNP SP Operations) validates knowledge and skills required (of a Tier II or Tier III support engineer) to troubleshoot and maintain service provider IP NGN core (PE-PE and PE-CE) network infrastructures. The CCNP SP Operations curriculum includes operational processes foundation, maintaining carrier class routing protocol environments, MPLS VPNs and TE technologies, and QoS mechanisms using Cisco IOS and IOS XR operating environments.

Valid CCNA Service Provider Operations will act as a prerequisite.

642-770 OFCN Operational Foundations for Cisco Service Provider Core Networks (OFCN)
Note: OFCN is highly recommended prior to taking MSPRP, MSPVM, and MSPQS.
642-77 MSPRP Maintaining Cisco Service Provider Routing Protocols (MSPRP)
Note: It is highly recommended that OSPF, IS-IS, and BGP (or BGP e-learning) Quick Learning Modules be completed prior to attending MSPRP training.
642-780 MSPVM Maintaining Cisco Service Provider VPNs and MPLS Networks (MSPVM)
642-785 MSPQS Maintaining Cisco Service Provider Quality of Service (MSPQS)
CCNP Service Provider Operations Recertification

Cisco professional level certifications (CCDP, CCNP, CCSP, CCIP, CCVP, CCNP SP Operations, CCNP Wireless) are valid for three years.

To recertify, pass ONE of the following before the certification expiration date:

  • Pass any current 642-XXX Professional level exam, or
  • Pass any current CCIE Written Exam, or
  • Pass the current CCDE Written Exam OR current CCDE Practical Exam, or
  • Pass the Cisco Certified Architect (CCAr) interview AND the CCAr board review to extend lower certifications.
  • Achieving or recertifying any of the certifications above automatically extends your active Associate and Professional level certification(s) up to the point of expiration of the last certification achieved.
